Biography

Jean Marie Hansen, 84, of Bristol, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 4, 1925 in Winside, NE, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Nielsen) Christensen.

On June 16, 1946, she married William “Willie” Hansen in Laurel, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2003.

Jean worked as a secretary for the Kenosha Unified School District until her retirement.

Jean was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafting, knitting quilts and gardening. She also enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her sister. She made yearly trips to Nebraska to visit family. Frequently there was a family reunion being held at the same time which was a wonderful bonus.

Survivors include her children, Toni Hansen of Bristol, Scott (Pamela) Hansen of Old Hickory, TN, Rory (Christine) Hansen of Bristol; grandchildren, Kaja (Steve) Augustyn, Kelly Hansen, Lindsey Hansen, Anna Hansen and Amy Hansen and her great grandson, Gunner Smith.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Gregory Hansen; a brother, Allen Christensen and a sister, Marjorie Calcavecchia.

Services in Laurel, Nebraska are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Bristol United Methodist Church would be appreciated by the family.
