Ronald D. Black
August 9, 1941 - July 21, 2010
This is just a little goodbye ditty
To My dear Uncle Ron,
68 years, and now, just a few days, gone

I won't go over each point of your life, Ron's eulogy...that is the place,
But I'll say this...life wasn’t easy when you met her face to face.

Let's go back a ways...and start with the early days.
As the Brits and the US became allies in WWII,
Ron...you chose that moment to emerge from the womb.

The 9th of August, 1941, the angels celebrated saying “Here he comes”!

Minocqua was the place of great family fishing trips,
With Mom, dad and sis, and plenty of mosquito bites and nips.

With Aunt Ruth & Uncle Al and, of course, cousin Bruce,
Some of those fish tasted great, and some of them just got loose!

There was walleye, perch, northern pike and bass,
And kids being kids, sometimes you were a pain in the #@%!

Ron, already you know every angel by name,
You'll have met all your pals from the Kenosha High School gang.

Working a long time at the railroad, along side your dad,
Then as a security officer made you proud and very glad.

If marriage was an Olympic sport, You'd have gotten yourself a Gold,
Apparently, God had other plans for you as you grew old.
Married first to Pat, who passed away with grace.
Then, again, God called Barbara, the second heartbreak you had to face.

You never had children birthed directly to you, but raised a stepson and plenty of dogs too.

Your sister, Gloria, who is up there awaiting your arrival,
Fishing pole in hand, she awaits with a smile.

A small private ceremony will be held just for you, Milton Lawn Cemetery, in Janesville, will do.
You’ll join your parents, Dale & Fran, bringing you full circle, to place it all began.

You lived your life, the best you could, and you lived it well ...as your circumstances would.
You've taken the journey we all must take. We take comfort and know You're in a great place.

We will miss you Ron...but we're letting you go,
Rest in Peace, Ronald D. Black, in the new place you call home.
